Comet Slingshot RPM
The Slingshot RPM is a kite that has dominated the world of freestyle kitesurfing for years. One after another, kitesurfers have become world freestyle champions with the Slingshot RPM. Youri Zoon became world champion with the Slingshot RPM right after the kite was introduced. Nowadays, Carlos Mario stands out with the RPM and has become world champion several times in recent years. Therefore, it is not surprising that the RPM can be classified among kites with a freestyle character. The Slingshot RPM has an open C kite design. This design ensures that the kite has a good freestyle character through thick slack and high pop. But the RPM also provides hang time and pull for gigantic kiteloops. The Slingshot RPM uses a pulley-less IRS bridle system that makes the kite feel stable and slightly increases the wind range. The Slingshot RPM has a lightweight yet strong three-strut system with Splitstrut technology. You pilot the RPM with four lines. Read all about the Slingshot RPM here.
The Slingshot RPX V1 2021 kite is the evolution of the legendary Slingshot RPM. The first version of the RPX is super versatile: freeride, freestyle, big air, and kiteloops. The open C design provides a direct kite with good feedback that gives you the confidence to push your limits with the Slingshot RPX V1. Compared to the RPM, the Slingshot RPX V1 has received many improvements to make the kite even more versatile and easy to use. The RPX is 10% lighter compared to the RPM. The fabric is made from durable 4x4 ripstick canvas. The Slingshot RPX has a lightweight yet robust three-strut system with Splitstrut technology. You navigate the RPM with four lines.
Comet Slingshot Fuel
The Slingshot Fuel is the most legendary kite in the Slingshot kitesurfing range. Slingshot has been manufacturing the Fuel since 2001. A true hardcore freestyle C-kite machine. A kite for the advanced kitesurfer. But if you manage to tame this kite, you will have a kite with which you can read and write. The Slingshot Fuel owes its greatest fame to Ruben Lenten, the 'master of the extreme'. With the Slingshot Fuel, Ruben Lenten invented the kiteloop, a trick for which entire competitions are now held, such as the Megaloop Challenge. The Slingshot Fuel has a traditional C-shape design with wide, square tips that ensure powerful performance. The Slingshot Fuel has a strong five-strut profile and is flown with five lines.
The Slingshot SST is the wave kite within the Slingshot kite range. This ensures that you can also use the Slingshot SST as a beginner kite. The SST is a kite designed for wave riding. Slingshot has given the SST a crazy drift through a lightweight three-strut design and special tips that allow you to surf endless waves as if you were losing your kite. The SST is always good for control even when you have completely depowered the kite and moved the bar away from you. The bridles ensure a perfect profile in the air and make it possible, in combination with the tips, for the Slingshot SST to be easy to relaunch. All these features that make the Slingshot SST a great wave kite also make it a popular choice among kiteboarding hydrofoilers. Especially the drift and good handling when you have depowered the kite make the SST a wonderful hydrofoil kite. You fly the Slingshot SST with four lines
Comet Slingshot Rally
The Slingshot Rally can be categorized as an all-terrain kite. Anyone who rides with the Slingshot Rally will find it to be a pleasant kite. Reliable, stable, and with good relaunching. An excellent kite for the average kitesurfer. The Rally has a great wind range and can easily ride upwind. If you enjoy making big and long jumps in the air, you will also have a lot of fun with the Slingshot Rally. The Rally has a gigantic hang time and a nice, gradual pull in the air. Perfect for backrolls, front rolls, and impressive aerial tricks. The Slingshot Rally has a strong five-strut profile so that the Rally maintains its shape well in strong winds. You fly the Slingshot Rally with four lines. Read all the details about the Slingshot Rally here.
Comet Slingshot Turbine
The Slingshot Turbine is the low-wind version of the Slingshot Rally. The high aspect ratio ensures that the Turbine is super efficient in the wind, making its performance in low-wind conditions incredible. The fact that the Slingshot Turbine is purely intended for low-wind days is also clearly reflected in the sizes in which the Turbine is available. The available sizes of the Slingshot Turbine are 13, 15, 17, and 19 meters. If you want to stay in the air as long as possible, you just have to send the Slingshot Turbine into the air, pull on your bar, and there you go. Floating over the water, enough time for some front or back rolls. Due to the five-strut design, the Slingshot Turbine always stays in the air with the perfect shape and will not collapse when the wind increases. Thanks to the bridle system, the Turbine has a very nice depower and will relaunch easily despite its size. You fly the Slingshot Turbine with four lines and a low V-connection.
The completely new Slingshot Ghost is a very friendly single-strut kite that adapts to all levels of riders. Beginners will benefit from the quick handling and direction, a wide power range, and stability. This is also what advanced foilers appreciate, the newly developed water relaunch that comes from the defined shape and form. The shape also allows the kite to react very quickly to your steering input and turn rapidly when you go for that downloop transition. To provide that extra touch of responsiveness, the Slingshot Ghost is equipped with IRS bridles. This bridle system has a bungee in it to make the kite turn faster, even when you are really underpowered or when the bar is fully out. The Ghost also features the unique Split Strut design.
Comet Slingshot Raptor
The Slingshot Raptor has an open C shape with five struts for the strongest possible profile, which is very useful when the wind is blowing very hard. With five struts, a kite maintains its shape under the harshest conditions more easily. Additionally, Slingshot has used a new canopy since 2020. This new canopy is made of Teijin 4x4 ripstop. The 4x4 ripstop fabric is super strong and stretches even less than the fabric that was used before. By using this 4x4 ripstop canopy, the Slingshot Raptor is more stable in the air, steers more directly, and lasts longer. The Raptor has a pulley-less bridle system. The advantage of this is that the Slingshot Raptor provides excellent feedback to the bar, and you always know where the Raptor is in the wind window. Despite the absence of pulleys, the Raptor still has good depower and easily navigates upwind. You can adjust the Slingshot Raptor to your preference using different anchor points on the kite. This way, you can adjust the Raptor in steering speed, power, and riding style, just what you feel like that day.
Kiteboarding technology Slingshot
A good kitesurf kite is not simply assembled. It requires a lot of research and development to create high-quality kites. Certain technologies ensure that today's kites are no longer comparable to the kites from a couple of years ago. Slingshot is heavily involved in developing techniques that make kites and kitesurfing easier and better. You can read below about the techniques that Slingshot uses to make their kites fly the way they do, amazing!
Slingshot IRS Flange System
The IRS system from Slingshot stands for Intuitive Response System (IRS). Slingshot first introduced this system in 2015. The IRS bridle system replaces the old pulley bridle system with an elastic line system that stretches and contracts back. As a result, there is always the correct tension in the lines. The result is that a Slingshot kite with the IRS bridle feels very smooth in the air with a more direct feel than an old pulley system.
