The Sentry V1 is the much-anticipated successor to the Compstick kitesurfing bars from Slingshot. The new Sentry V1 bar has everything you expect from a modern kitesurfing bar, but still retains that solid and authentic feel of Slingshot bars.

To begin with, the quick release system of the new Sentry bar meets the latest standards. The release system continues to operate in the same way, pushing the red part of the QR (Quick Release) away from you. Then, the kite will hold in a single direction line and all the power will be released, this is called "single-line flag out". Reassembling the QR is super simple, you just need to place the loose end of the chicken loop back into the QR system and you'll be back in the water in a matter of seconds.

Another important improvement is the system with which the power lines automatically untangle. This is because the PU-coated depower line passes through the Slingshot Sentry bar in two parts, which are separated within the bar. Right above your QR, there is a swivel mechanism that ensures that when your power lines are tangled and you pull the bar back, the lines untangle effortlessly. This eliminates the need to manually untangle the power lines.

The Slingshot Sentry V1 bar it has a soft EVA grip. The thickness of the bar has remained practically the same, which makes the Sentry feel super solid, as we are used to with Slingshot bars. The left and right can be distinguished at a glance thanks to the red (left) and white (right) markings on the Sentry bar. Slingshot has eliminated the Guardian and Sentinel bars, and the Sentry V1 uses a depower system above the bar similar to the previous Sentinel system. The system works with a clam cleat: pull the rope to reduce power and release it to increase power.

The ends of the Sentry V1 bar are smooth and the thick black floats give the bar an authentic Slingshot look. The Sentry V1 bar uses the same durable lines that Slingshot has used for years. Slingshot launches the Sentry V1 bar in three different sizes: 17” (43cm) with 20m lines, 20” (50cm) with 20 + 3m lines, and 23” (58cm) with 27m lines. The new Slingshot Sentry V1 bar has also been thoroughly tested by ISO and is certified according to ISO 21853 standards for kitesurfing safety requirements.
