SurfSkate Carver Aipa Sting 30.75" C7 - History and Performance
In 1974, Ben Aipa, the legendary Hawaiian surfer and shaper, left an indelible mark on the history of surfboards with the development of 'Da Sting', a fast-turning shape he first created for Larry Bertleman. "I watched him at the Lighthouse for a moment, and I could see what he was trying to do... I knew he was the future, so I went back to the shop and imagined the kind of board dynamics he would need to perform the maneuvers he was attempting," Ben said.
What a perfect thing then that we have collaborated with the Aipa family to create a Carver surfskate model that also achieves the same quick turning and pumping maneuvers that we pioneered in skateboards in 1996. The transparent grip with a sugar layer effect showcases the iconic blue flames, one of the most emblematic airbrush designs in the history of surfboards.
This is the characteristic truck that started it all. Still being the smoothest surf truck in turns and the fastest in pumping, it is at the forefront of true surfskate performance. The patented second axle of this front truck not only increases the turning radius of your carve but also allows you to turn the nose and pivot your turns from the tail. This dynamic creates momentum and propels you forward with increasing speed. The amazing similarity to surf performance has made the C7 the choice for surf training by both professionals and amateurs alike.
