The main function of the rear stabilizer is to maintain a level and stable flight path. However, conditions and user preferences can change the angle of the stabilizer that feels best (also known as the optimal point). The wedge changes the angle of attack (AOA) and controls the amount of aerodynamic load that the stabilizer creates in the overall foil system; to increase the AOA of the stabilizer and the pressure of the front foot, add a positive wedge. The smallest adjustment in the AOA can improve comfort, reduce fatigue, change the cadence of your pump or the turning radius of your carve, and increase/decrease the pressure on your front and back foot without changing the position of your foot. With the Sonar wedge kit, you can stack multiple wedges; from our base setup, it covers from -0.5 to +2.5 degrees. Adjust the performance of your foil system and change your riding style.
