This year, the Switchblade is under Cabrinha's Lite series, featuring new HTD Lite materials for the first time. These materials result in a significant weight reduction to enhance the kite's performance. Traditional Dacron has been replaced with lightweight and ultra-resistant Dacron (high tenacity Dacron). Combined with the new and unique structure of the kite, Cabrinha has not only drastically reduced the weight but also improved durability and steering speed.

The kite is made of Nano Ripstop, which contains four times more squares than the usual ripstop fabric, making it considerably stiffer and more durable. This additional stiffness allows the kite to respond more directly to directional input. The lines have less stretch to provide an even more direct feel. Cabrinha has used rigid EVA rods on the trailing edge to prevent fluttering. Durable TPU bumpers have been added to protect the leading edge during strong kite impacts.
